Henry Cavill showed off the very first images from the upcoming Netflix The Witcher season 2. The new images showcase Geralt of Rivia in some brand-new armour. Henry shared the images on Instagram with a quote from Andrezj Sapkowski, the author of the original Witcher novels.

The images show off Geralt’s updated armour for Netflix The Witcher season 2 as well as the return of his silver sword and iconic wolf medallion.
While this is just a small taste of things to come, it does get us excited for the upcoming season. The Witcher season 2 is set to introduce some new classic characters from the book and video game series. This includes Kim Bodnia who will play Vesemir, Geralt’s Witcher mentor and Paul Bullion (“Peaky Blinders”) will play Lambert, one of Geralt’s Witcher colleagues.
Last month, Netflix recast the role of Eskel with actor Basil Eidenbenz, after original actor Thue Ersted Rasmussen dropped out due to rescheduling conflicts. Other new cast members include “Game of Thrones” star Kristofer Hivju as Nivellen, Yasen Atour (“Young Wallender”) as Coen, Agnes Bjorn as Vereena, Aisha Fabienne Ross (“The Danish Girl”) as Lydia and Mecia Simson as Francesca.
Netflix is set to debut The Witcher season 2 sometime in 2021. The show recently resumed filming it was put on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic.
