The Witcher Netflix show has had its season 3 synopsis detailed by Netflix also announcing that the show’s third season is officially in production.
Netflix’s The Witcher season 3 will feature “a battlefield of political corruption, dark magic, and treachery”, centering around Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri.

“As monarchs, mages, and beasts of the Continent compete to capture her, Geralt takes Ciri of Cintra into hiding, determined to protect his newly-reunited family against those who threaten to destroy it.
Entrusted with Ciri’s magical training, Yennefer leads them to the protected fortress of Aretuza, where she hopes to discover more about the girl’s untapped powers; instead, they discover they’ve landed in a battlefield of political corruption, dark magic, and treachery.
They must fight back, put everything on the line – or risk losing each other forever.”

Season 2 Netflix’s The Witcher released in December 2021 with the main storyline coming from the events of Blood of Elves. Netflix has yet to reveal which book the events of season 3 will follow but we suspect it could be The Time of Contempt as that is the canonical follow-up in the five book series. Season 3 could also include some events of the Sword of Destiny which is technically set before the events of Blood of Elves. Either way, we are excited to jump back into the world of The Witcher.
Season 2 of Netflix’s The Witcher released to critical acclaim and CD Projekt Red has also announced a brand new Witcher game that will “kick off a new saga”.
Netflix has yet to give any indication of when we can expect to be watching Season 3 but I wouldn’t hold your breath for a 2022 release date.
