Season 4 of Netflix’s The Witcher has received a brand new teaser trailer showing off the first official look at Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia, replacing former actor Henry Cavill who portrayed the character in the first three seasons. The reception to Hemsworth’s appearance has been mixed online.
Liam Hemsworth will portray Geralt of Rivia in season 4 as well as the fifth and final season of The Witcher. Henry Cavill, who made his name playing Superman in the DCEU, was originally cast as Geralt and quickly won over fans with his performance. After exiting the show (reportedly due to creative differences), Geralt was recast with actor Liam Hemsworth. The new look has been received warmly by some fans, but not by others.
“Honestly, it could be worse. It looks okay. We’ll have to see how he’s acting is but it’s not the worst thing I’ve ever seen,” said one comment on the more positive side. Another stated, “Not going to lie, I think he might actually be better than Cavill in the role but it’s way too late. I don’t think anyone cares about the series anymore.”

Of course, we’ll have to wait to see if Hemsworth matches Cavill’s performance which is pretty big shoes to fill.
As for the video games, CD Projekt Red is currently hard at work on The Witcher 4 which might only launch on next-gen consoles. The Polish studio is also busy with a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, though not much is known about either of these projects. Beyond that, CD Projekt Red is also working on a remake of The Witcher.
The Witcher season 4 doesn’t have a premiere date yet but we’ll keep you updated as soon as we get confirmation. Check out the teaser trailer below:
