The Witcher Sirens of The Deep Anime Netflix Release Date Trailer

The Witcher: Sirens of The Deep Animated Movie Gets Trailer and Release Date

Netflix has released the first trailer, release date and new details for its upcoming animated movie, The Witcher: Sirens of The Deep. The show is set in the universe of The Witcher and sees the return of Doug Cockle, who voiced protagonist Geralt of Rivia in CD Projekt Red’s video games.

The Witcher: Sirens of The Deep is set between episode 5 and 6 of season 1 and adapts Andrzej Sapkowski’s short story called “A Little Sacrifice.” Geralt is called to a seaside village to investigate a series of attacks, becoming wrapped up in a long conflict between humans and merpeople. Netflix confirmed that the animated feature will run for 1 hour and 29 minutes, making it longer than the last Netflix-produced anime based on The Witcher, Nightmare of the Wolf.

Cockle will reprise his role as Geralt and not Henry Cavill, who played the character in the live-action adaptation. However, Cavill parted ways with Netflix following the release of season 3, reportedly due to creative differences between the actor and the showrunners. His role will be filled by Liam Hemsworth for season 4 and beyond.

Netflix released a description of The Witcher: Sirens of The Deep:

“Geralt of Rivia, a mutated monster hunter, is hired to investigate a series of attacks in a seaside village and finds himself drawn into a centuries-old conflict between humans and merpeople. He must count on friends — old and new — to solve the mystery before the hostilities between the two kingdoms escalate into an all-out war.”

Netflix also confirmed that the animated movie has a release date of 11 February 2025, so it will be a while before we get to see another adventure from Geralt of Rivia – more excitingly, seeing Doug Cockle step into the role once more to portray the iconic character.
