Resident Evil 6

The Worst Resident Evil Game Looks to be Headed to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S

Resident Evil 6 is likely headed to current-gen consoles. The game is only available as a last-gen port on Xbox Series X/S and PS5 through backwards compatibility. However, a new ESRB listing hints that we might get an upgraded, “remastered” version soon.

The ESRB rating lists the horror game for Xbox Series. At the moment, there’s no PS5 mention, but that doesn’t mean Capcom isn’t prepping the port. We can safely assume the PS5 will get a port of the game at the same time.

We don’t know what this Resident Evil 6 port will include in terms of upgrades, but it will likely be remastered to some degree with improved resolution and frame rate. Given that the game is actually a PS3 and Xbox 360 title, there has to be some way to improve it.

Resident Evil 6 was released back in 2012 for PS3 and Xbox 360. It wasn’t the most successful game in the series, however. It felt like a rushed job with some of the worst writing we have seen in the series. Generally, it was more of an action game with some questionable mechanics. Hardcore fans enjoyed the game, but if you’re expecting the same quality as RE4, you might want to skip it.

Thankfully, the trainwreck of Resident Evil 6 spawned the series’ much-needed reboot in Resident Evil 7. Capcom has taken the series a bit more seriously since, and it has paid off.

When the studio officially announces this port, we will share the news with you.

Blending action and survival horror, Resident Evil 6 is a dramatic horror experience that cannot be forgotten. Now in high definition, the game offers multiple characters, including fan favourites and new faces, along with solo and co-op modes and new challenges for players, different from any other in the Resident Evil franchise. This edition includes all DLC, along with two costumes per main character, originally exclusively unlockable through Residentevil.net, that are now unlockable through the game itself.
