I love Animal Crossing: New Horizons but as I mentioned in my review, the game has literally zero quality-of-life features. Everything is a chore from building pathways to crafting objects at the bench. The overall gameplay would greatly benefit from a few tweaks to the simple things. With that being said, Nintendo will never patch these changes into the game. An Animal Crossing: New Horizons fan put together a pretty legit Direct video showing off some “much-requested” features in action. I have to say, if I did not know this video was fake, I would have believed it all.

The fan-made Animal Crossing: New Horizons Direct touches base on a lot of issues the game faces. In addition, the video explores some major quality of life changes to your everyday island living. Simple things like being able to craft items using materials from your storage without having to pull them out. Using items by pressing the ZR button and dropping them with the ZL.
There was not one of these new changes I would not have welcomed with open arms. Clearly, fans of the series are fed up with the clunky menu and tedious back and forth gameplay. Even a small detail like sorting your inventory with the “Y” button will make our lives easier. Not to mention the Direct touches on some UI tweaks like the ability to see what something sells for if you have sold it before. It also shows whether or not you have donated items to the museum.
This Animal Crossing: New Horizons fan-made direct has been put together with a lot of love and attention to detail. However, the changes are the most important things to pay attention to. We doubt Nintendo will ever patch these tweaks into the game, but we can only dream.
