THQ Nordic Has 80 Games in Development – Dead Island 2 Included

Dead Island 2 has been in development hell since 2014. It was announced just after the PS4 and Xbox One was released. The game was meant to come out that year but suddenly vanished from the face of the earth.

THQ Nordic seems to be still working on the game as the company revealed it has 80 games in development of which, 48 of them are unannounced. The news comes from the publisher’s financial report that touched on the success of Metro Exodus as well as the future ahead.

[perfectpullquote align=”full” bordertop=”false” cite=”” link=”” color=”#FF0500″ class=”” size=”20″]”During the period we signed multiple new projects, among them a new development agreement with 4A Games, the developers of the Metro franchise, for their upcoming, still undisclosed, AAA-project. By the end of the quarter, THQ Nordic, Deep Silver and Coffee Stain had 80 games in development, of which 48 titles are currently unannounced”[/perfectpullquote]

The publisher then confirmed a couple of the games including Biomutant, an unannounced game from 4A Games and most striking of all, Dead Island 2.

Dead Island 2 has been silent for over three years now but THQ Nordic is confident that the game will make its debut one day. We will no doubt see a load of these 48 games announced at E3 next month and some gameplay of the ones we know about.

As for Dead Island 2, don’t expect it any time soon. At least we know it is still alive out there somewhere.
