Legendary skateboarder and general cool kid, Tony Hawk is no stranger to the video gaming world. In fact, Tony Hawk is the first person known for completing and documenting a 900 (a 2 and half revolution airborne spin performed off a ramp) for his video games. It’s considered as the most technical skateboarding tricks and Tony Hawk managed to capture that for fans to relive a million times over in his video games.

After many years of releasing titles licensed for Activision, Tony Hawk took a step back from releasing more skateboarding video games under his own name. After the last title, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5, which was released in 2015 we were actually glad to see that it was game over for the franchise, as the game was pretty horrible.

Now, Tony Hawk is back to release another skateboarding video game. This time on mobile. The new mobile game is set to be released on 13 December 2018 (stay tuned for my review) and will be called Skate Jam. You can pre-order the game now for Android and iOS.

Tony Hawk’s Skate Jam will have the following features:

  • Classic Career Mode;
  • Global Skate Jam tournaments;
  • Street, park and vert skate disciplines and Birdhouse (Tony Hawk’s company) skateboards to collect.

According to the game’s description, it will

[S]et a new bar for authentic tricks, controls, and music in a mobile skate game, thanks to Tony.

It’s been a while since Tony Hawk has lent his name to a skateboarding video game and his last release didn’t fare so well, so the pressure is definitely on to deliver a cool game. It’s interesting to see that the pro-skater chose mobile as the platform to re-enter the video gaming market, but it might be a good business decision due to the rising success of mobile games and apps.

I, for one, am excited to give Tony Hawk Skate Jam a spin when it releases on 13 December 2018. How about you?

GLITCHED was created by taking everything we love and putting into one place. It contains a little something for everyone be it your favourite comic book, what to binge on Netflix this weekend, or your annual first-person shooter. The idea that one can love all the cool things is not hard to comprehend, you just need to find a place for it. That place is GLITCHED..
