Baldur's Gate 3 Tall Karlach Buffs Spells

Two Copies of Baldur’s Gate 3 Were Sold in Vatican City

The Pope is probably playing Baldur’s Gate 3 right now. At least that’s according to the head of publishing at Larian Studios who recently revealed that two copies of last year’s award-winning RPG were sold within Vatican City, with one also on a wishlist.

“Sold two copies of Baldur’s Gate 3 in The Vatican, with 1 wishlist,” wrote Larian’s Michael Douse on X. “I’d like to think the latter is just the Pope waiting until he has a free minute. Wish I could see their mod list. Bet it’s absolutely gnarly.” Douse didn’t mention when these copies were sold or wishlisted, though it seems like there are a couple of gamers who are really into role-playing games within Vatican City.

It’s worth mentioning that Vatican City has a population count of 764 with 100 of that number belonging to the Papal Swiss Guard alone. However, at least half of its population doesn’t actually live there, so two copies being sold within the 121-acre city is honestly not bad, all things considered.

In other news, Larian Studios officially added mod support to Baldur’s Gate 3 on consoles last month, letting PS5 and Xbox Series X/S players enjoy some of the same benefits that PC players get. So far, the mod list keeps growing with new mods and content being added every day. If you’re unsure about where to start, we’ve got guides on how to install mods on PS5 as well as the 10 must-have mods to install right now.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is also getting official Funko Pops for Shadowheart, Karlach and Astarion (sorry Gale, Wyll and Lae’zel fans). Unfortunately, Amazon has completely sold out on the selection as each Funko Pop is listed as “currently unavailable” as of writing. Keep an eye out in case more stock opens up.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
