Diablo 4 officially launches today and fans are jumping into the latest, highly anticipated action-RPG from Blizzard Entertainment. While you’ll certainly find dozens of hours of enjoyment in the base game’s main campaign as well as robust endgame, there’s a lot more on the horizon that’s currently in the works. Blizzard has confirmed that two Diablo 4 expansions are already in active development with season one’s development wrapping up soon.
Speaking in a new interview with Kinda Funny Games, Diablo general manager Rod Fergusson talked about what’s currently cooking at Blizzard Entertainment regarding post-launch support for Diablo 4. According to Fergusson, the Blizzard team is busy wrapping up season one and already knee-deep in the process of making season two as well as two expansions. This doesn’t include patches and fixes for the live-service portions of the game either so Blizzard has a lot on its hands right now.

Speaking about the multiple post-launch contents for Diablo 4, Fergusson said:
“We have to build things in parallel. Right now as I sit here we’re about to launch the main game, we’re finishing up season one, we’re working on season two, we’re working on expansion one, we’re kicking off expansion two – all that’s happening right now.”
Diablo 4 is showing no signs of slowing down its development as the game will likely need to be supported for several years. In the meantime, players can expect to hop into season one fairly soon, though Blizzard hasn’t set a concrete date yet apart from a window of mid to late July. It’s understood that seasonal content will rotate every three months so season two will likely roll out before the end of the year.
In related news, Blizzard recently released a small update for Diablo 4 that brought much-needed balancing to the Sorcerer and Rogue classes as well as increased enemy health for higher World Tiers. You can read more about that here.
Diablo 4 is currently available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
