Two More Cyberpunk Games by CDPR Are in The Works After Cyberpunk 2077

While everyone and their robot kitten probably can’t wait for Cyberpunk 2077, releasing on 16 April 2020, that is still a long ways away. Polish developer CD Projekt Red, however, is already looking to the future as well and they have not one, but two more Cyberpunk games in the works.

This is according to a Polish business journal, Bankier.pl, which notes that the developer currently has three Cyberpunk games in the works set in the universe created by Mike Pondsmith. According to the report, CD Projekt Red President Adam Kiciński said that: “We’re working on three Cyberpunk things – the main game and two more.”

That does make sense as CD Projekt Red focused on The Witcher universe almost exclusively after the release of the original, with their next two big games being Witcher 2: Assassin of Kings and Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, with Gwent also being based in the Witcher universe.

So what will these Cyberpunk games be? Well, we have no clue, but we know one of them will be a big new game, while the other could be something smaller. According to a translation, CD Projekt Red Vice President Piotra Nielubowicz said that:

Our next big project will also be in the Cyberpunk universe, and we’re already working on it and treating it as a really big and innovative project for us.

If you are worried that the Cyberpunk games will get old with the same thing, don’t, as I really don’t expect the project after Cyberpunk 2077 to be completed in the next five years, looking at CD Projekt Red’s track record of building their brilliant games slowly and meticulously.
