The most exciting part of the Inside Xbox 20/20 reveal yesterday was the first Assassin’s Creed Valhalla gameplay. However, fans were disappointed to see Ubisoft release a minute-and-a-half video of cutscenes. No walkthrough or actual gameplay was shown. In addition, the video had a lot of “insert black space for hype”.

Addressing negative fan feedback, game director Ashraf Ismail took to Twitter to ask for patience. According to the director, Ubisoft has a long marketing plan ahead for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. In addition, Ismail confirmed fans will see more soon.

The developer announced Assassin’s Creed Valhalla on 30 April 2020. It took over a week to showcase the game’s cinematic trailer, key art and a few seconds of cutscenes. Talk about a “long marketing plan”.

In comparison to previous Assassin’s Creed games, the reveal process has not been any longer. Usually, Ubisoft announces new games at E3 in June. In addition, the developer showcases gameplay and trailers. Given that it is only May, we are still ahead of schedule. The game is due to release later this year for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and PC.
