Ubisoft Gamescom 2022 Attend

Ubisoft Confirmed to Attend Gamescom 2022

Assassin’s Creed publisher Ubisoft has been confirmed as one of the publishers attending Gamescom 2022. The annual gaming event is set to take place from 24 August to 28 August and will apparently feature around 250 companies. Ubisoft is now pinned as one of those companies in attendance, where fans are hoping to see Skull and Bones and other unannounced titles.

Ubisoft announced the news via social media confirming its appearance at Gamescom this year. Ubisoft will be joined by likes of Bandai Namco Entertainment, Koch Media and THQ Nordic, among others.

Unfortunately, several big publishers won’t be attending Gamescom this year. These include PlayStation, Nintendo, Activision Blizzard and Take-Two Interactive. In the cases of PlayStation and Nintendo, both companies recently held standalone events in early June’s State of Play and the Nintendo Direct yesterday.

With Ubisoft attending, it’s likely we’ll see the long-dormant Skull and Bones finally be re-revealed after years of silence. The game reportedly had its release date leaked recently, so the chances of seeing the game at Gamescom are quite high. We shouldn’t expect to hear anything related to Assassin’s Creed as a separate event will happen in September for the future of the series.

Ubisoft might have a bit to show regardless, including its Star Wars game from Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 developer Ubisoft Massive. A new Splinter Cell game is also rumoured to be in the works, so this might be a good opportunity to announce the franchise’s return. On a less hopeful side, we don’t expect to hear anything about Beyond Good and Evil 2 for a while, despite some updates assuring fans that development is going well.

Gamescom is set to take place from 24-28 August and feature plenty of gaming companies. Ubisoft’s big showcase will likely be for Skull and Bones, though we can hopefully expect to hear more about what the publisher has been working on.
