Ubisoft announced a range of new games last night as well as showcased gameplay and release dates for others. It is going to be a busy few months ahead for the company as Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, Far Cry 6 and Watch Dogs Legion all plan on launching in the next few months. However, with the next-gen hardware on the horizon, what games will you get for free if you purchase the current-gen versions?

Well, according to Ubisoft all three of its biggest upcoming titles will offer next-gen console game upgrades. Furthermore, this also includes Far Cry 6 which is releasing in 2021 after PS5 and Xbox Series X. Let’s break it down;
Watch Dogs Legion
- Release Date: 29 October 2020
- Free Upgrade: PS4 to PS5 / X1 to Xbox Series X
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
- Release Date: 17 November 2020
- Free Upgrade: PS4 to PS5 / X1 to Xbox Series X
Far Cry 6
- Release Date: 28 February 2021
- Free Upgrade: PS4 to PS5 / X1 to Xbox Series X
Hyper Scape
- Release Date: Beta now live on PC / Console TBA
- Free Upgrade: TBA
As you can see, Ubisoft worked with both Microsoft and Sony to ensure that players will be able to benefit from owning the current-gen version of these games. However, keep in mind that these games will most likely offer free upgrades for a specific time period. For example, Watch Dogs Legion could be upgradable for a year after release. Ubisoft has yet to confirm these details.
