Ubisoft Entertainment SA has decided to pursue legal actions against Apple and Google over a Rainbow Six Siege ripoff called “Area F2”. The game has been created by Alibaba Group Holdings and is almost a one-to-one copy of the popular console and PC shooter. According to Ubisoft, the game is a “near carbon copy” of Siege.

While Alibaba and Google have yet to comment on the lawsuit, Ubisoft is not happy about this Rainbow Six Siege mobile “Area F2” ripoff game at all. The game looks exactly the same as Rainbow Six Siege with lower graphics quality on mobile. Everything including the characters, match flow, weapons, UI and even the soundtrack seems to be copied from Ubisoft’s shooter. In addition, the game wants to piggyback on the Siege popularity to make a quick buck.

“R6S is among the most popular competitive multiplayer games in the world, and is among Ubisoft’s most valuable intellectual properties. Virtually every aspect of AF2 is copied from R6S, from the operator selection screen to the final scoring screen, and everything in between.”

Ubisoft filed the lawsuit on Friday afternoon. The three involved companies have yet to respond to the action. In addition, the game is still available on the App Store and Google Play Store.
