For the first time in the series, Anno is coming to consoles. Ubisoft announced that its popular city builder, Anno 1800 will get a Console Edition in March. The Anno 1800 Console Edition is supposedly the “complete experience” but Ubisoft has yet to confirm whether or not the game is bundled with all the previously-released DLC packs and expansions found on the PC version.
Anno 1800 is already up for pre-order ahead of its launch on 16 March 2023. It is available on both PS5 and Xbox Series X/S (sorry last-gen, no release for you). The standard edition of the game costs R699 and includes the game and its “biggest updates”. Again, we don’t know what this means but it is unlikely all the expansions and DLC.

There’s also an Anno 1800: Console Edition – Deluxe Edition (yes, that is its name). This pack costs R699 and includes three cosmetic DLC packs. You’ll get the Pedestrian Zone, the Amusements Pack and the Vibrant Cities Pack.
Players who pre-order the game or purchase it by 16 April will also receive the Imperial and the Console Founder packs. These packs include cosmetics and a digital artbook and a soundtrack.
Ubisoft says that Anno 1800: Console Edition includes a fully redesigned UI optimized for controllers. The developer claims that the experience is fully playable with a controller so you can enjoy a game originally designed for the keyboard and mouse.
The developer put together quite a cool trailer to announce this game version. Check it out below followed by a full developer commentary trailer showcasing the game’s features.
