Unannounced Ratchet and Clank Sequel Has Ratchet and Rivet Fight Azimuth – Leak

Insomniac Games is working on a new Ratchet and Clank game which will seemingly act as a direct sequel to Rift Apart. According to new leaked concept art, the game will bring back the “other Lombax” Alister Azimuth who died at the end of Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time.

If you recall, Azimuth was a big deal in A Crack in Time. He was, at the time, the only other living Lombax who befriended Ratchet. However, Azimuth became obsessed with turning back time in order to save the Lombaxes. In the end, he sacrificed himself to prevent the universal catastrophe. We haven’t seen or heard anything regarding Azimuth since.

According to new concept art, which has come from the latest Insomniac Games leak, Azimuth will return in the next game. The artwork shows the Lombax transformed into something wildly evil and under the control of another mysterious new character. It also shows both Ratchet and Rivet fighting off Azimuth with Clank and Kit in the scene.

If you look at the concept art, which you can view here, Alister Azimuth is a lot bigger than usual. He has Rivet in his claw and Ratchet is running towards him with Clank on his back. To the right-hand side, you’ll see Kit working on a control panel. At the top right-hand corner, there’s another strange figure. This person is holding a potion of sorts and is seemingly controlling Azimuth with it. This character looks to be a new villain in the series.

Another leak suggests that this villain is going to be playable in the new Ratchet and Clank game. The artwork says the villain is inspired by Dark Matter and is a “creature of multiple dimensions”.

Another bit of information suggests that the new Ratchet and Clank game will bring back space exploration. Using the crew, you will explore the galaxy and its various locations. Some of which will include planets and black holes.

There’s a lot to unpack here. If you want to look at all the leaked artwork, you can find it here. Don’t get your hopes up for the new Ratchet and Clank game anytime soon though. According to another Insomniac Games leak, the studio plans to launch the game in 2029.
