Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is out today and if you’re wondering what comes in the Collector’s Edition we have you covered. Perhaps you haven’t decided whether or not to pick one up or you’re at work and can’t wait to see what’s inside your order waiting for you at home.
The good news is that, unlike other PS5 Collector’s Editions of late, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 version is still available for purchase here in SA. Multiple retailers are still holding stock of them but be warned, they are selling out fast. This means you still have time to grab one and jump into one of the best superhero games ever made with one of the best Venom statues we have seen.

The Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Collector’s Edition is a whopper of a size. It features a 19-inch venom statue with both Miles Morales and Peter Parker attached to the villain. During the unboxing, I was surprised to see how well this was all packaged. The statue itself comes in a gorgeous black box stamped with a Venom insignia. It sort of reminds me of a coffin-like showcase piece.
The statue is so big that Insomniac Games had to detach Peter Parker from it and leave it separate for you to assemble yourself. It is super easy. Included in the box is a metal spider web pole. This gets slotted into Venom’s arm and then into Peter’s hand. The end result is Peter web-shooting Venom.
As for the quality of the statue, it is pretty great considering the price tag. The paint job is especially superb and the attention to detail is much higher than I expected. Venom’s tongue, for example, has this wet look to it and his teeth shimmer in the light. They are also all individual pieces.
There are some issues I had. I wish there weren’t any visible seams on the body. His legs, for example, have seams where they have been connected to the upper body. I wish these weren’t there. Also, the underside of the statue looks a bit cheap especially where the Venom ooze goes off the edge. There are a few gaps and flaps here as a result.
But with that being said, the statue is pretty amazing. It is huge. Taller than the PS5 and considering the price of the Collector’s Edition, is quite a bargain. It will definitely have people gawking over it when they come to visit.
The Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Collector’s Edition also comes with a steelbook. There’s no disc so this is just a “display case”. Not sure why Sony still does this. The standard edition of the game has a disc, just put that into the box. It also includes a code for the Digital Deluxe Edition of the game.
