Borderlands 3 is a pretty “out there” game with some over-the-top action, characters and story. It was expected to have a crazier cover art too as the scrapped images for what could have been the boxart have been revealed showing off some rather crazy artwork.

The Borderlands 3 cover art was hung up around San Diego Comic Con where Take-Two and Gearbox Software hosted a “Museum of Mayhem” detailing all things Borderlands. These cover arts were all in the running to be used for the game’s key art but were scrapped in favour of the “Holy Pyscho” art.

One of the artworks, in particular, features a foot of all things and takes after the Borderlands 2 artwork. The psycho has his two hands under this throat which represented “2” in the Borderlands 2 and because it is now Borderlands 3, they added a foot to be the third thing.
There is also Borderlands 3 cover art of a psycho riding a planet like Miley Cyrus from her Wrecking Ball music video. Another one features a psycho with a massive gun for his head and there is even one with a baby psycho holding up three fingers while two other babies suckle on what seems to be a female’s chest behind him.
Take a look at all the artworks down below (thanks to ResetEra) as you try and make sense of some of them. There is no doubt many of them being quite good but I still prefer the one that is now being used for all the art for the game.
