It doesn’t seem like we are going to get a new Half-Life game anytime soon so if you’re looking to play the series, then you a forced to go back and enjoy the previous games. However, fans of the games can look forward to a new way to play them thanks to the Half-Life 2: Remastered Collection headed to Steam.
Now before you get your hopes up, this Half-Life 2: Remastered Collection is not an official release created and developed by Valve. Instead, it is a fan-made pack that includes a range of visual improvements and changes to the package. According to SteamDB, Half-Life 2: Remastered Collection is developed by the same team who worked on the previous Half-Life 2: Update release.

This fan-made game is also a bit different from most mods out there. This release has actually been approved by Valve themselves and greenlit to release on Steam. So Valve themselves have seen and played the Half-Life 2: Remastered Collection and like it enough to support it without any legal takedowns.
It is still a bit early to tell what the collection looks like and how many visual changes have been incorporated into the game. If the previous Half-Life 2: Update mod is anything to go by, the Half-Life 2: Remastered Collection could be drastically different when it comes to the game’s visuals. Hopefully, the version modernizes the experience a bit for players.
You can take a look at the Half-Life 2: Remastered Collection logo here and try and figure out more about the game on the SteamDB page here. The game has no release date at the moment but hopefully, players can expect to see more soon.
