Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong, which was originally set to release this year and delayed to February 2022 has now been delayed again. Nacon Publishing has announced that the game will now release on 19 May 2022 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, and PC.
Nacon Publishing says that the decision to delay the game isn’t an easy one to make. Sadly, the ongoing pandemic and the recent new variant has caused major issues in the game’s development pipeline. In order to keep the health of the developers at Cyanide Studio in check, the publisher has decided to delay the project by two months.

In a statement on Twitter, Nacon Publishing shared the news saying:
With Swansong, we are taking core to our studio DNA and scaling up as we adapt the systems from the Vampire: The Masquerade tabletop into a video game experience. The political intrigue and supernatural mystery baked into the setting are a perfect fit for the story we want to tell.
Our focus is on crafting a world that draws you in, that requires you to make difficult decisions and live with the consequences. Swansong features lots of characters, choices, dialogues, and opportunities to decide how the story plays and our ultimate focus is on quality. With this in mind, we’ve made the difficult decision to delay the launch of Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong from February 2022 to May 2022.
This wasn’t a decision we took lightly, but one necessary to ensure the highest possible quality while retaining a healthy work-life balance for our team. Granted, the pandemic also threw a couple of wrenches into our planning, but this delay will allow us to apply some additional polish and give us some extra time for QA. We’re a small but very passionate team, eager to create an immersive experience that rivals the sort of personal storytelling you’d experience from a great tabletop session. One that leaves you with questions long after the credits have stopped rolling (but a reason to go back and see how things could have been different).
Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong will be available on May 19, 2022.
We can’t wait to share more with you, so stay tuned. Thank you very much for your patience and all of your support.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong is set in the World of Darkness series and follows the story of three playable vampires who are over a hundred years old. It features a deep consequence system where players have to decide how they approach certain chapters in the game. Key features include:
- Welcome to the World of Darkness – What if vampires were real? What if these bloodthirsty predators lived hidden among us, meticulously and skilfully hatching ancient conspiracies? And what if you became one of them? In Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong, you play as these alluring monsters in a sophisticated world where the lines between the real and supernatural are always blurred.
- A heart-pounding thriller – Hazel Iversen, the Swan, is the new Prince of the Boston Camarilla. An iron hand in a velvet glove, she intends to assert her power and respect the Masquerade, the vampiric law designed to ensure humans never learn of the existence of these creatures of the night. But nothing works as planned. With rumours of plots, murders and power struggles, you must work in the shadows to protect your Sect in a frantic investigation that plunges Boston into chaos.
- Play as 3 original vampires – Play as 3 vampires who are over a hundred years old. Progress through the game through their intertwined destinies, deal with their different points of view and use their character sheets to try to separate the truth from the lies. Each character has their own abilities and vampiric disciplines that you can upgrade individually to suit your preferred approach. Will you choose intimidation, seduction or stealth? It’s your decision, as long as you can sate your Hunger for blood.
- Gameplay with consequences – With its unique approach to gameplay, Swansong puts emphasis on the consequences of your actions in both the investigation and your social interactions with characters. Analyse each situation carefully because your decisions can have huge consequences on your heroes’ lives and the fate of the Boston Camarilla.
