Visions of Mana Xbox Game Pass

Visions of Mana is Not Coming to Xbox Game Pass After All

Earlier this week, Xbox updated the Visions of Mana game pages to include mentions of Xbox Game Pass, leading many to suspect that it would be launching day one on Microsoft’s subscription service. However, Microsoft has now admitted that this was merely an error. It turns out the JRPG won’t be heading to Game Pass after all.

In a response to Eurogamer, Xbox clarified the incorrect listing that mentioned Visions of Mana as a Game Pass title. “We’re aware that Xbox.com included language that indicated Visions of Mana was coming to Xbox Game Pass and can confirm this was an error,” said Xbox. “While we are always updating the library and looking for new ways to provide members with value and choice, we do not have plans to bring Visions of Mana to Game Pass at this time.”

This is quite a strange turn of events as Square Enix brought Visions of Mana to the recent Developer Direct showcase where it had a lengthy gameplay deep dive, giving fans the idea that there was some partnership brewing between the publishers. Sadly, this doesn’t mean Visions of Mana will be launching day one on Xbox Game Pass, but it will be available to purchase on Xbox Series X/S.

However, there’s still a good chance that Visions of Mana will eventually make its way to Game Pass, even if it’s briefly. Xbox has added several Square Enix-published titles in the past to the subscription service so it’s possible that the JRPG will be added to the library at some point in the future.

The official description for Visions of Mana reads:

“Immerse yourself in the vibrant graphics of this beautiful world, where the powers of nature blend with the elemental aspects of mana to create a rich tapestry of life. Journey through enchanting locations with near-seamless transitions in a semi-open field that’s yours to discover. Brace yourself for fast-paced, multi-dimensional actions in battle to enrich your fighting experience. Use the magic of the Elementals to explore this vast world to your heart’s content!”

Visions of Mana releases sometime in 2024 for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
