Square Enix might finally be sharing the love on Xbox. The publisher went all out during the latest Xbox Developer Direct to showcase the upcoming Visions of Mana on Xbox Series X/S. The showcase took viewers by surprise as many of them didn’t believe a third-party developer would be part of Xbox’s first-party showcase video.
The relationship between Xbox and Square Enix might be getting even tighter as it seems Visions of Mana might be a Day One Xbox Game Pass game. There have been two leaks now which suggest this is the case.

The first leak comes from the Xbox Store website which accidentally updated the meta description for Visions of Mana to mention the Xbox Game Pass launch. The link says “Rejuvenate the flow of power in Visions of Mana, coming soon to Xbox Series X/S and Game Pass”.
The second leak then backs this up with an updated banner image of the game. The banner image also includes the words “Play Day One” on the top. This suggests that Visions of Mana is definitely a day one Xbox Game Pass game.
Microsoft has yet to announce Visions of Mana for Xbox Game Pass. We know the game is expected to launch sometime in mid-2024. It currently doesn’t have a release date. It is the first brand-new entry in the Mana series in quite some time now.
It is good to see Square Enix playing nice with Microsoft for a change too. Up to now, the publisher has always had a PlayStation agenda with multiple exclusive titles on the platform. The upcoming Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is a PS5 exclusive, for example.

But with games like Final Fantasy XIV Online launching on Xbox, we might see the tides change in the months ahead as Square Enix starts to support the Xbox platform a bit more.
