While it is not Warcraft 4, Warcraft 3: Reforged does look great. It is, for those who don’t know, a complete reimagining of the classic RTS title from Blizzard Entertainment, complete with modern social and matchmaking features for players to enjoy. The game was supposed to release in late 2019 but now, it has been slightly delayed.
Blizzard Entertainment announced that Warcraft 3: Reforged will now release on 28 January 2020 as they need a little bit more time to polish things up. That’s not a big delay at all and from what we’ve seen so far, it will make fans of the classic RTS very happy. Blizzard explains that:
[perfectpullquote align=”full” bordertop=”false” cite=”” link=”” color=”#33FFF1″ class=”” size=”21″]Though we’ve been working hard to get Reforged in your hands before the end of the year, as we started approaching the finish line, we felt we’d need a little extra development time for finishing touches. As always, our goal is to honour the high standards you hold us to.[/perfectpullquote]
With Warcraft 3 Reforged, Blizzard is updating the UI, rebalancing the gameplay and utilizing all the modern Battle.net features to make the experience even better. The game was announced at BlizzCon 2018 and last month, the beta kicked off. Features for the game include:
- 62 missions across Kalimdor, Lordaeron, Northrend, and beyond
- 40+ hours of epic gameplay, with 4+ hours of reforged cutscenes
- Control over 20 legendary heroes and villains from Warcraft lore: gain experience, level up, master powerful abilities, and enhance nearby units
You can pre-order Warcraft 3: Reforged from Battle.net now and it will set you back roughly R480 (29.99 Euro). That’s for the standard edition, while the Spoils of War Edition will set you back 39.99 Euro and comes with cosmetics for several other Blizzard Entertainment titles.
