Developer Saber Interactive has revealed a detailed year one roadmap for its upcoming third-person shooter, Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2. The plan lays out all the content that will be added to the game post-launch until September next year.
The year one roadmap (or “battle plan”) for Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 includes a healthy mix of free updates and season pass rewards. First and foremost, the free updates out the gate include the addition of private PvP lobbies, the Battle Barge Sparring Arena and ultrawide support. Season Pass holders who bought the Ultra Edition will also get access to the Ultramarines Cosmetic Pack containing a handful of cosmetic items for the Heavy Class.
Space Marine 2 Pre-Order Bonuses
Players who have pre-ordered the game will receive Macragge’s Chosen DLC which includes unique appearances for the Chainsword and Bolt Rifle, as well as a unique right Pauldron. This cosmetic can be unlocked after completing the campaign mission “Skyfire.”
Users who purchased the Gold or Ultra Editions for Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 will get access to the Season Pass content. “The Season Pass has been envisioned as a way to enhance your customisation for your character,” Saber Interactive explained. “All the gameplay additions listed here in the roadmap (including weapons, game modes, and maps) are intended to arrive in free game patches and will be accessible to everyone.”
Space Marine 2 Year One Roadmap
As mentioned before, season 1 will kick off following the launch of the game and it will mainly be focused on improving the experience and adding additional features and tweaks. Season 2 will commence between October and the end of the year.
Saber Interactive laid out the plans for Season 2:
“Amongst the free content, you can expect a new Operations map, a new enemy, a harder difficulty level, a new weapon, and various other improvements. Season Pass owners will be able to unlock new cosmetics based on the Dark Angels chapter: colour schemes, heraldry, a weapon skin, and a Champion skin: a unique full armour set for the Bulwark class.”
2025 will continue the Year One roadmap with new Operations, PvP maps, game modes like Horde Mode, new cosmetic items and more.
