Warner Bros DC Dan Lin Kevin Feige Figure

Warner Bros and DC May Have Found Its Kevin Feige Figure

Warner Bros Discovery might’ve found its Kevin Feige figure to lead the future of DC in film and TV shows. According to reports, Dan Lin is currently in talks to lead the charge. This comes in light of former DC Films president Walter Hamada exiting the company.

Lin’s resume includes producing for films like The Lego Movie, Stephen King’s It adaptations and Aladdin, among others. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lin is in the negotiation stages of heading up DC Films, which encompasses not only the film division but television as well. Lin will report directly to Warner Bros Discovery CEO David Zaslav.

This proposed restructure will essentially bypass three separate division heads: Warner Bros Pictures heads Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy, Warner Bros. TV chair Channing Dungey and HBO/HBO Max chief Casey Bloys, putting all control in the hands of Lin.

Kevin Feige is currently the president of Marvel Studios and is often accredited for giving the current, highly successful Marvel Cinematic Universe direction under a singular vision. Warner Bros and DC hopes that a similar feat can be done with appointing Lin as the “Feige” figure they’ve been looking for to give its own cinematic universe some clear path forward.

The recent company restructuring at Warner Bros Discovery led to a few films and television shows being axed including a completed Batgirl project, with the fate of several of its other planned films currently up in the air. Yesterday Warner Bros Pictures chose to delay both Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom and Shazam!: Fury of the Gods as a result of the calendar being restructured. Black Adam, on the other hand, hasn’t been impacted by these changes.

Lin is currently in talks and it won’t be long before a confirmation is given by Warner Bros and DC.
