The delays of Gotham Knights and Hogwarts Legacy has been the source of many reports over the last few weeks, with the latter in particular getting the boot into 2023. However, amidst all the contradictory reports, WarnerMedia CEO Jason Kilar has now clarified and confirmed that both titles will indeed release in 2022.
A previous report claimed that Hogwarts Legacy had suffered from development issues, which would lead to its delay into 2023. Other sources like WB Games, however, claimed that it was still very much on track to release this year. Now, WarnerMedia has finally spoken up about these reports, confirming themselves that both are releasing in 2022.

Kilar spoke on Twitter recently about WarnerMedia’s financial results for 2021 and future plans for the company going forward:
“This mission, this strategy continues in ‘22 with a sense of urgency: launching HBO Max in many more countries this quarter and the balance of the year, launching CNN+, delivering of a full slate of highly anticipated games.”
His tweet was accompanied by images of both Gotham Knights and Hogwarts Legacy, seemingly confirming that these are the “highly anticipated games” on their schedule for 2022.
Gotham Knights is being developed by Warner Bros. Montreal, though is unconnected to Rocksteady’s Batman Arkham universe. Players will assume the role of either Batgirl, Robin, Red Hood or Nightwing on the eve of Bruce Wayne’s supposed death and figure out the mysteries behind the sudden appearance of the Court of Owls. Warner Bros. emphasized the ability to tackle the game either as a solo player or in co-op with a partner.
Meanwhile, Hogwarts Legacy, developed by Avalanche, is an RPG set in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, though isn’t attached to the main series. Instead, it serves as a prequel set hundreds of years before Harry Potter and places players in the shoes of a custom-created new student enrolling at Hogwarts. Featuring the iconic wizarding school and all of its surrounding areas as an open-world, players will be able to engage with various classes, learn spells, make potions, and generally do whatever you dreamt of as a child.
Gotham Knights and Hogwarts Legacy are on track to release sometime in 2022.
