The Watch Dogs and Assassin’s Creed games are about to collide. Ubisoft has announced a new chunk of content headed to Watch Dogs: Legion that includes a fully playable assassin and story chapter. Keep in mind that while this content is awesome to have, Ubisoft claims that the story is not canon and the content is simply there as a fan service. This means you shouldn’t sit around trying to piece together the past Assassin’s Creed story and how it links to Watch Dogs: Legion. It doesn’t…
With that being said, the upcoming Assassin’s Creed content in Watch Dogs: Legion does look quite cool. Players will take on the role of an Assassin named Darcy. She comes equipped with a cool-looking outfit that pays tribute to the Assassin’s Creed series. She also has a stylish mask that she uses when she is infiltrating areas in the game.

While Darcy looks cool, the story content in Watch Dogs: Legion sounds amazing on paper too. According to Ubisoft, players will get their hands on two story chapters that revolve around Assassin’s Creed throwbacks. Be it exploring ancient tombs or unlocking age-old vaults. There is also a Templar Order member after Darcy who acts as the content’s villain.
The trailer also seems to hint at a possible link between the Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate twins Evie and Jacob Frye. However, Ubisoft has stated that this content is not directly influenced by the story so perhaps these references are simply for easter egg purposes. The general gameplay also seems to focus on sneaking around and stabbing people with the Hidden Blade. You know, those things we used to do before the series became an action game… cough cough.
The Watch Dogs: Legion Assassin’s Creed content is set to release on 24 August 2021 for all participating platforms. The content is part of the game’s season pass but can also be purchased separately. Check out the trailer down below.
