The latest Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker trailer has arrived marking the beginning of the end of the saga that has spanned more than 40 years. The trailer teases an explosive ending to the saga which sees the final battle between the Resistance and the First Order reach its epic conclusion.
According to director J.J. Abrams, the ending will be meaningful and tie together all loose ends in the series so far. Abrams claims the production team knew this film was the ending and are not screwing around.

The latest film which opens in cinemas on 20 December 2019 picks up one year after the events of Star Wars: The Last Jedi where Kylo Ren and Rey are preparing for their final battle against one another. We also know that the iconic Ian McDiarmid will be reprising his role of Emperor Palpatine but his origin and how he to exist in the film is not clear yet.
