You can check out the final Joker trailer embedded at the bottom of this article and it is definitely not clowning around. The Joker movie, directed by Todd Phillips, revolves around the iconic DC villain and it is a standalone story of Arthur Fleck, a clown-for-hire gradually falls deeper into madness and eventually becomes one of the greatest villains ever.

Phillips’ exploration of Arthur Fleck, who is indelibly portrayed by Joaquin Phoenix, is of a man struggling to find his way in Gotham’s fractured society. A clown-for-hire by day, he aspires to be a stand-up comic at night…but finds the joke always seems to be on him. Caught in a cyclical existence between apathy and cruelty, Arthur makes one bad decision that brings about a chain reaction of escalating events in this gritty character study.[/perfectpullquote]
It is important to note that this is a standalone story and does not tie directly into the DC Extended Universe. The Joker movie does seem to have a bit of a different take on the iconic DC villain and from what we’ve seen so far, Joaquin Pheonix’s portrayal looks fantastic.
Joker releases in cinemas on 4 October 2019.
