Nintendo is hosting its first Switch 2-specific game direct today focused entirely on the upcoming Mario Kart World. The Nintendo Direct is expected to showcase the game in full ahead of its 5 June release. Fans can look forward to seeing some of the mechanics we haven’t yet seen including open-world exploration, customization and perhaps some new features.
Nintendo says the stream will last around 15 minutes. You can tune into the stream on YouTube or watch it live on the Nintendo Today! app, which isn’t available in South Africa, by the way. The stream will kick off at 15:00 South African time / 14:00 UK time.
Mario Kart World has some big shoes to fill given the huge success of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. The game is the first major Switch 2 exclusive but at the moment, fans are divided on its $80 price tag. Hopefully, today’s Direct will sell players on its asking price. We’ll share the full details of the Direct straight after it ends.
Hit the open road with Mario and friends! Zip along courses on a vast world where everything is connected. Race around grassy plains, bustling cities, wide-open waters, big ol’ volcanos, and more…plus everything in-between. Exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2!
