WB Games Was Set to Unveil New Batman and Harry Potter Game at E3 2020

E3 2020 has been cancelled. The news was confirmed last night that the ESA would be canning the convention this year due to the COVID-1 virus. With that being said, according to industry insiders, WB Games was set to host its first E3 presentation this year for the first time where they were set to announce a Batman game, Harry Potter and Rockstead title.

Jason Schreier of Kotaku confirmed that the publisher was actually planning on announcing the overly-teased upcoming Batman: Court of Owls along with the leaked Harry Potter: Magic Awakened. Warner Bros. Games was also set to show off a brand new game from Rocksteady Studio who have been quiet for some time now.

Even with E3 2020 being cancelled, this won’t stop the publisher from hosting a reveal for the above. Multiple publishers including Microsoft and Ubisoft have announced that they will host E3-related reveals through live streams around the E3 month to make up for the cancelled event. WB Games will most likely do the same thing.

Of course, this sort of live stream takes time to plan so it will be a while before publishers share their plans for the months ahead. If these alternate plans are a success, it could prove that E3 may not be needed to some extent. However, the expo’s cancellation will affect smaller developers that rely on the convention in order to showcase their work and network with possible investors.
