We are Looking for Writers – Join the GLITCHED Team

It is a brand new year and things are changing at GLITCHED. We have a fancy new website with a brand new look and feel and we need writers to help fill up the site with awesome content. So we are hiring a small freelance team to make this possible.

Before we go any further please note:

This is NOT a full-time job by any means at all. This is a freelance opportunity to join one of SA’s biggest gaming, tech and lifestyle sites and contribute your voice to it. Don’t go and quit your job. This is something you do on the side. The South African gaming industry has next to no money at the moment so this opportunity won’t pay much but has its perks. Free games, attending local and international events which very few people get the opportunity to attend. Other perks include fancy merch and getting your name out there. Those looking to make a living on this, it won’t happen here or at many other local sites so close this page if that is what you are looking for.

Now that we have cleared the air let us get to the application process. I am looking for writers who can contribute content across various topics including;

  • Gaming
  • Tech
  • Esports (local and international)
  • Comic books
  • Films
  • Board/Card/Table Top Games
  • Cars

If you love any of the above then you are already one step in the door. I then need to know you can string some words together and you understand the basics of WordPress editing, grammar, how to report on a news story and write a review. You need to send a breaking news article covering any of the above topics to me as if it is going to be published on the site. Not more than 300 words. If you already write then send me links to examples.  You then need to review anything you want in under 500 words. Be it a doughnut you had this morning for breakfast or a cellphone cover you have on your phone.

  • 1 news article text including the source (300 words)
  • 1 review of whatever you want (500 words)
  • Send the above to [email protected] with the subject “GLITCHED Freelance Position”
  • You can also submit this on the GLITCHED contact page

These positions need to be filled quite soon so the deadline closes on 12 January 2020. I will email the successful applicants before 17 January 2020 so if you don’t get a mail by then, I will keep you on record in case we open up any more spots.
