Wesley Snipes MCU Blade Cameo Movie

Wesley Snipes Hasn’t Been Asked to Cameo in MCU Blade

At the recent San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel Studios laid out its full plan for the next MCU phases all the way until Phase 6. Blade will be a part of the new Phase 5, with Mahershala Ali cast in the titular role. However, former Blade actor Wesley Snipes apparently hasn’t been approached by Marvel yet to cameo in the upcoming blockbuster.

Speaking to Forbes recently, Snipes talked a bit about the new MCU Blade movie. “Those who approach the craft that way usually do very, very well, and I think he’s done pretty good so far, so I have great confidence,” said Snipes about the new project. “And his name is Mahershala Ali, c’mon!”

In the same interview, Snipes mentions that Marvel Studios hasn’t come knocking at his door to make a cameo (or possibly play a significant part) in the new Blade. Production on the movie hasn’t begun yet, so it’s possible that Marvel might approach him soon if he does have any part to play in the reboot.

Snipes originally played the vampire hunter in the original Blade trilogy produced in the late 90s and early 2000s. The first film, most importantly, was also the first Marvel movie ever made to get an R-rating. There’s been some speculation that Marvel Studios might give the same rating to the MCU movie – and fittingly so given its violence, mature themes and vampire lore – but only time will tell. Deadpool 3 is rumoured to also receive an R-rating, though it hasn’t been placed in any of the MCU phases yet.

Blade is set to arrive on 3 November 2023 and will be helmed by Mogul Mowgli director Bassam Tariq. Ali will play Blade, though the rest of the cast hasn’t been announced yet.
