Western Digital has announced a new range of WD_Black storage solutions including a new P50 Game Drive with 4TB of storage space. Not only does the P50 boast double the storage compared to last year’s model, but it also includes the super-fast 2000MB/s speeds.

Western Digital says that the new P50 Game Drive SSD has been purpose-built for gaming. The 2000MB/s speeds help decrease loading times allowing gamers to get into the action faster than ever. Keep in mind that while the P50 is fast, users who own a PS5 and Xbox Series X will only be able to use the storage device as an external unit to store PS4 and Xbox One Games. The WD_Black P50 is not compatible as a PS5 and Xbox Series X game storage extension.
I reviewed the P50 2TB model last year and it is one of the best external SSDs you can buy on the market. This year’s new model has the same super-fast read/write speeds but the expanded storage is a welcome addition to the party. Western Digital says that the WD_Black P50 Game Drive will be available later this quarter starting at $750. However, you can purchase the 2TB, 1TB and 512GB models now.
