Survival adventure Windbound has been announced for PS4 and it looks pretty cool. The game seems to blend the exploration of Breath of the Wild with the well-known sailing of Wind Waker and we are pretty excited to get our hands on the game when it launches on 28 August 2020 for PS4. According to the PlayStation Blog, the game has been developed by 5 Lives Studios and sees players explore a long-forgotten world while discovering the history of an ancient race of people.

Windbound follows the story of Kara after she is separated from her fleet during a mysterious storm. Kara wakes up on a strange island and needs to survive the harsh wilderness with the goal of reuniting with her tribe. As players progress through the world they will uncover the history of the ancient people, their relationship with the sea and the creatures that inhabit the island.
The game’s exploration and emphasis on survival means players will explore the lands for materials to craft items to make their journey easier. Players will also get to build canoes and upgrade them throughout their adventure as they learn to harness the power of the wind.
The game takes place across a range of unique islands featuring their own enemies and materials to discover. Players will need to explore each island in order to advance the game but crafting new weapons and developing new strategies to fight off the deadly threats.
So far Windbound sounds and looks great and 5 Lives Studios seems to be putting a lot of effort into this survival adventure. We will have to wait and see how things turn out when Windbound launches for PS4 on 28 August 2020. Take a look at the announcement trailer down below;
