Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, the latest Soulslike action-RPG from Nioh developer Team Ninja, will receive its first expansion next month. The Battle of Zhongyuan DLC is officially expected to drop on 29 June followed by a second expansion planned for September. The third and final expansion will then launch in December.
Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty launched earlier this year to mostly positive reviews with many praising Team Ninja’s stylish, fast-paced combat and challenging but rewarding gameplay. The base game offers at least over two dozen hours worth of gameplay if you’re just running the main story but side objectives can easily inflate that play time to over 50 hours. However, if you’ve already completed everything that Wo Long has to offer, new content will be arriving fairly soon.

The Battle of Zhongyuan DLC for Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty marks the first expansion of the game and it will launch on 29 June for consoles and PC. The second expansion is titled Conqueror of Jiangdong and that’s planned for launch sometime in September, while the last expansion, Upheaval in Jingxiang, is slated for December. This more or less falls in line with the DLC release schedule of the Nioh games.
To access the expansions, players will need to own the game’s season pass which costs $24.99. Not much is known about the stories of these expansions but we can surely expect more intense boss battles, tougher enemies and expansive new locations if the Nioh expansions are anything to go by.
Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is currently available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC. However, if you’re subscribed to Xbox Game Pass, you can download and enjoy the base game without paying the premium price. Unfortunately the expansions will not be included with the Game Pass version as a season pass will need to be purchased separately.
