Earlier this year, the LinkedIn profile of a MachineGames employee seemingly revealed that they were working on an “unannounced game” in addition to Indiana Jones, which many fans speculated could be hinting at Wolfenstein 3. Now, another job listing has dropped more hints about the next Wolfenstein title.
As spotted by Tech4Gamers, MachineGames recently posted a job listing seeking a Senior Animator who is passionate about “first-person immersive games.” The listing also requires candidates to have a “strong familiarity” with MachineGames’ past works and experience in “animating creatures or quadruped characters” as preferred skills for the job.

It’s easy to see why so many fans are convinced that this is all pointing to Wolfenstein 3 potentially being in the works. In fact, Bethesda’s Pete Hines already confirmed back in 2018 that the studio was already working on the third Wolfenstein game in a passing comment. Since it’s been nearly five years since that bomb drop, it’s possible that the game is pretty far along in development and could be revealed sooner rather than later.
We already know that MachineGames might have its hands tied to making its AAA Indiana Jones game, though it isn’t far-fetched to assume that the company could also be working on multiple projects at the same time.
As for when we can expect an official announcement to happen, it’s hard to say. All signs point to the upcoming Xbox Games Showcase where Microsoft and Bethesda will have the opportunity to blow the lid open on several projects that have been in development under its various studios over the past few years. It’s possible that Wolfenstein 3 could be revealed here but given the recent job listing, it seems like the project could still be in the middle of development and might only be officially announced closer to release.
We’ll surely find out at the upcoming Xbox Games Showcase set to take place on 11 June.
