Back in 2021 at The Game Awards, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and Shadow of War developer Monolith Productions announced that a new AAA Wonder Woman game was in development at the studio, though we’ve heard nothing about it since its reveal. A new piece of leaked concept art from one of the studio’s developers might’ve accidentally given us our first look at the game and what to expect.
The concept art for the Wonder Woman game was posted by James Gentile, a Senior Motion Capture Technician for Monolith Productions at Warner Bros. Games, who had the image as his LinkedIn profile header before he swiftly updated it once word got out. Thankfully, the internet managed to grab a screenshot of the leaked concept art.

Even with this piece of art, we still have few details to go on. Hopefully this means that the game is close to being shown, potentially at Gamescom Opening Night Live tonight, at The Game Awards later this year or possibly at another unannounced event.
Monolith Productions provided a description of the Wonder Woman game following its reveal:
“In development by Monolith Productions, creators of the critically acclaimed Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and sequel Middle-earth: Shadow of War, the single-player open-world action game will introduce an original story set in the DC Universe and allow players to become Diana of Themyscira in the fight to unite her Amazon family and the humans from the modern world. Powered by the Nemesis System, gamers will forge deep connections with both enemies and allies as they progress from a heroic fighter into a proven leader.”
In case you missed it, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment officially filed a trademark for the Nemesis System made popular by the Middle-earth games and got it approved back in 2021. The Nemesis System is structured around in-game enemies who, after defeating the protagonist, climb up the hierachy and get stronger, making their next encounters more challenging. It sounds like Wonder Woman will incorporate this system in some way too.
