World War Z Gets Free Content Update With Horde Mode Z and More

When we reviewed the World War Z game from Saber Interactive and Focus Home Interactive in April this year, Marco gave it an 8/10 for its fun co-op gameplay, great class system and intimidating hordes. Since then, the developer has been pushing out some great updates for the game, including new modes, missions, special zombies and more. However, the most requested feature is a Horde Mode and now, the Horde Mode Z has launched for the game on all platforms.

The World War Z Horde Mode Z is exactly what you probably expect it to be. Players will face waves of progressively tougher enemies to see how long they can survive while scavenging for items and upgrading their defences between waves. Expect a whole lot of zombie pyramids, massive swarms and some intense gameplay.

In a Press Release, Saber Interactive and Focus Home Interactive explained that:

In between rounds, players can upgrade their firepower, defences, and scavenge for free pickups like heavy weapons and medkits.[/perfectpullquote]

This is, of course, a free update for the game and there’s even more than just the Horde Mode Z, including a new zombie type:

  • The Bomber: a special new zombie that drops an explosive when downed, which players will only have a few precious seconds to disarm.
  • New premium weapon skins, free for owners of the World War Z Season Pass, which bundles together all of the game’s first and second seasons of premium DLC.

Furthermore, Saber Interactive and Focus Home Interactive plan to add more with future updates, including PvE crossplay support, premium character skin packs, and a new premium campaign episode, which should all arrive “in the coming months”.
