John Cena WWE 2K23

WWE 2K23 Box Art and Release Date Leaked

WWE 2K23 is just a few days away from being announced. According to a new leak, 2K Games will showcase the game on 28 January 2023 as well as reveal the release date and cover star for this year’s game. The cover star of this year’s game is none other than John Cena. A leaked box art which has been doing the rounds online shows the wrestling star doing his classic “you can’t see me” move while wearing a bright green shirt and sweatband.

Of course, 2K Games has come down hard on the leaks. Many of the Twitter accounts where the images were shared have been hit with a copyright strike. The WWE 2K23 box art is only viewable if you search “WWE 2K23 boxart” on a Google Image search. I would upload it here but we’ll likely get a nasty email from a law firm too.

As for the WWE 2K23 release date, according to the Microsoft Store, which accidently added the game to a listing before its reveal, the wrestling title will release on 17 March 2023. The Microsoft Store listing states that the WWE 2K23 Cross-Gen Edition will release on 17 March. We’ll likely see the standard edition release on the same day too.

By the sound of things, 2K Games isn’t abandoning the PS4 and Xbox One this year with WWE 2K23. The cross-gen edition is proof of this.

2K Games has been working hard to revive the WWE 2K game series after it took a two-year hiatus after the release of 2K22. Last year’s game was a huge step in the right direction for the series. However, we hope this “back to annual release schedule” doesn’t spell bad news for the franchise.
