The Ascent, which up to now was seen as an Xbox and PC exclusive game, might be headed to PS4 and PS5 according to the ratings board. The game was released on 29 July for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC and developed by Neon Giant. According to Game Rating Board Tawain, it is now headed to PS4 and PS5 too.
While I would often tell you to take this with a pinch of salt, that is not the case. Usually, when the Game Rating Board Tawain rates a game, there’s a 100% chance it is real and in fact, releasing soon. The board often leaks upcoming games and this time it is no different.

This week, The Ascent received some new DLC in form of both paid and free content for the Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC versions of the game. However, the PS4 and PS5 rating does hint at a possible launch for the game taking place soon. Seen as this game is a digital product, perhaps we might see an announcement at The Game Awards next week and a release on PS5 and PS4 soon after?
If you already play the game, you can jump into the new CyberSec Pack DLC that packs two new weapons, four armour pieces, weapon skins and more. This DLC is paid for so keep that in mind. The game also just received some free content including a new photo mode and transmog system. This all arrived with dozens of bug fixes and performance tweaks. Something the game is in dire need of.
We reviewed The Ascent earlier this year and thought it was a fun co-op shooter. Sort of like Diablo with guns. Sadly, it is ridden with performance issues, save corruption crashes and bugs. You can read our full review here.
