Xbox Game Pass Might Soon Be Shareable With Friends

Microsoft has just started testing its Xbox Game Pass Family Plan service where users can invite family members to bandwagon off a more-expensive gaming plan. At the moment, testing suggests that the current plans are only allowed to be shared with the immediate family of the owner. However, a new leak suggests that this service might soon bring friends to the mix too.

The leaked branding called “Xbox Game Pass Friends & Family” was spotted online and points to the ability to add friends to the service now too.

While Microsoft has yet to share any official announcement on this new “Friends & Family” Xbox Game Pass service, this move would make sense. Other Microsoft plans that offer five users per subscription are open to all users. It requires a user to simply add other Microsoft accounts to the subscription and it doesn’t lock it behind immediate family members.

For Microsoft to move the Xbox Game Pass service to friends and family would align it with the company’s other services. It would also break the restrictions on the current in-testing model.

At the moment, Xbox Game Pass Family is in testing in Colombia and Ireland with no set announcement and release date in place for other regions.
