Marvel Vs Capcom Fighting Collection Arcade Classics

Xbox Reportedly Working With Capcom to Fix MT Framework Issues

Last month during June’s Nintendo Direct event, Capcom officially unveiled Marvel Vs Capcom Fighting Collection Arcade Classics which bundles a handful of classic fighting games from Capcom’s rich history of fighters. Initially, it was announced that the game would only launch on Nintendo, PlayStation and PC, skipping Xbox altogether. A new report suggests that Microsoft is now working with Capcom to fix the MT Framework issues that prevented the bundle from appearing on Xbox consoles.

As reported by Windows Central’s Jez Corden, he explained that Microsoft lost their grip on the fighting game community since Street Fighter 5. With Marvel Vs Capcom Fighting Collection Arcade Classics skipping Xbox due to technological issues, it’s certainly not a good look for the company.

Corden says it was due to “the ongoing issue with MT Framework and Capcom games, which are skipping [Xbox] for technology reasons, really from what I’ve been told. But I’ve also been told that Microsoft is actively working on it with Capcom. I think Microsoft has identified that having Capcom’s back catalog not present on Xbox for a technology reason is not a great look.”

The fan backlash for Capcom’s classic fighting game bundle missing Xbox was swift as fans voiced their displeasure at Microsoft for not launching the title on Xbox consoles at the same time as otherv platforms. As it turns out, this had more to do with MT Framework issues that Microsoft is now apparently working to resolve with Capcom. Marvel Vs Capcom Fighting Collection Arcade Classics is expected to hit all platforms later this year, though it remains to be seen if Xbox will be one of those launch platforms or if it will arrive at a later date.

In related news, Capcom says it has no intention of stopping the production of physical games, despite over 90% of its recent sales being digital.
