We know Microsoft is working on two next-gen consoles. The Series X and a much weaker Series S. The smaller console will provide about half the power of the X and sell for a lot less too. That is now confirmed thanks to a new leaked image revealing the Xbox Series S design, price and release date. According to the image posted by Thurrot, the smaller console will retail for $299 and release alongside the Series X on 10 November 2020.

Microsoft has since officially announced the console after leaks forced the company to make it official. However, they did not share a release date.

To complement the leaked photo, a video was also spotted online. User WalkingCat shared a short video showing off just how small the Xbox Series S console is in comparison to the X. If anything, the S looks very similar to the Xbox One range. It is also important to note that the console does not have a disc drive and it seems the device can be positioned upright or horizontally on your TV stand.
Windows Central followed up with a report that claims the Xbox Series X will indeed retail for $299. However, user can also sign up for the $25 Xbox All-Access Plan that includes the console and Xbox Game Pass for one set price per month.
Previously, we reported that the Xbox Series S would pack around 4 teraflops of GPU performance, compared to the 12 in the Series X. However, the device reportedly includes the Xbox Series X CPU which means it is also a pretty powerful console. In addition, the device also makes use of the SSD performance found inside the X. The lower teraflop count could mean users won’t be able to run games at 4K so perhaps this is Microsoft’s HD version of its next-gen console.
Microsoft is said to host a full reveal of the recently leaked console this month. In addition, the company will announce the official price tag and release date for both. For now, take the existence of the console as real. As for the $299 price tag and 10 November release date, that is still a mystery.
