Microsft announced Xbox 20/20 a brand new monthly stream of games related to the upcoming Xbox Series X. The first Xbox 20/20 will kick off this Thursday at 17:00 SAT as the company showcases gameplay from third-party titles headed to the console. During the announcement of the upcoming series of events, Microsoft showcased the new console’s boot screen and logo for the very first time.

The new boot animation is calm and subtle compared to the Xbox One X. The current console is loud and flashy. It still rattles my house when I boot it up on loud volume. Take a look at the boot menu down below;
We don’t know Microsoft will showcase gameplay from the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Valhalla on Thursday. However, we don’t know what other games will join the lineup. The event is strictly a third-party reveal stream. With that being said, the company has promised to showcase first-party games in July.
This week’s event will include games that are also optimized for the Xbox Series X including titles that support 4K 120FPS, DirectStorage, hardware-accelerated DirectX ray-tracing, faster load times and more.
Expect monthly updates and reveals from Microsoft as we edge closer to the end of the year. We still don’t know when the console will land, what it will cost and when pre-orders will open. Other than Halo: Infinite, we also don’t know what other first-party games will draw players in on day one. Let’s hope Microsoft has a killer lineup planned for the Xbox Series X.
Stay tuned for more as we approach the Thursday Xbox 20/20 event. You can watch it live on YouTube at 17:00 South African time.
