Xbox Series X Price S Release Date

Xbox Series X Price Set at R13,500 According to Pringles Promotion

Pringle seems to have let the Xbox Series X price slip in its recent Xbox Series X giveaway promotion. Well, according to the Terms and Conditions anyway. The Facebook Pringles page listing the terms states that there are 46 consoles to giveaway during the promotion which runs from 1 September to 15 October 2020. The total value of the competition comes to R621,000. If you divide that up into 46 (the number of consoles available) you get R13,500.

Now, keep in mind that Pringles does clearly state that the value is just an estimate. The terms read;

[perfectpullquote align=”full” bordertop=”false” cite=”” link=”” color=”#12D0FF” class=”” size=”21″]The states value is the estimated recommended retail value in South Africa provided by the supplier and is correct at the time of printing. The promoter accepts no responsibility for any variation in the value of the prize pool.”[/perfectpullquote]

While this does safeguard them from any claim to the correct retail price, it also gives South Africans some idea that the upcoming Xbox Series X console may be priced at R13,500. When comparing it to other currencies, it works out to £613, $814 and EUR687. This is a little high. However, you need to keep in mind that Microsoft has previously managed to bring in other Xbox consoles including the Xbox Series X at a much more competitive price than other countries.

We have always known at the back of our minds that the Xbox Series X price would be $599. However, this is the first time we have seen any local conversion. It makes sense, and you should probably put R13,5k away if you plan on buying the console here. When will it launch? Well, Pringle only let the price slip and not the release date. Give them a break.
