Microsoft has added a new dynamic theme to Xbox Series X/S consoles as a throwback to the Xbox 360 blades background. In addition to the new theme celebrating the legacy of Xbox’s history, the company has also made the final price deductions on several digital Xbox 360 games ahead of the console’s online marketplace closure later this month.
The new dynamic Xbox 360 blades theme is now available for Xbox Series X/S consoles and features a familiar background styled after the 360’s nostalgic dashboard, giving users a touch of some old-school Xbox personalisation. The dynamic theme works similarly to its original counterpart as the blades switch between different menu tabs.
To install the dynamic theme, users simply have to go to Profile & System on their Xbox Series X/S, hit Settings and under General, select Personalisation. Here, they can change their background to the newly added Xbox 360 Blades dynamic theme.
Takes you back, doesn’t it?

A variety of digital Xbox 360 games have also had their prices slashed for the final time ahead of the online marketplace’s closure later this month, so users who have yet to grab some nostalgic titles from Xbox’s past library can do so in the next couple of weeks. On 29 July, the marketplace will close forever, meaning players won’t be able to purchase digital Xbox 360 games or DLC anymore.
This won’t affect 360 games already made backward compatible on Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S, thankfully, so that library will still be available on newer consoles. However, over 220 games released digitally on Xbox 360 will be lost forever including Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate, Batman: The Telltale Series, Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, Call of Duty Classic, Fez, Mortal Kombat Arcade, Resident Evil 0, State of Decay, The Wolf Among Us and many more.
