XDefiant is Reportedly Getting a Capture The Flag Mode

Ubisoft is reportedly working on a Capture the Flag mode for its new competitive shooter XDefiant. According to new datamined information, the mode is expected to drop as part of the game’s Season 1 content.

The data was spotted by X user Rogue TX who shared the code on the social media platform. The data revealed that the Capture the Flag mode code was added in the recent game update. It was also found amongst other Season 1 content which seemingly confirms its Season 1 existence.

To make this leak even more believable, Ubisoft has since issued a copyright strike against Rogue TX and the post containing the information has been from X. In addition, the user account has been suspected from X too. Ubisoft has yet to comment on the matter.

This without a doubt confirms the existence of the game mode in XDefiant. Whether or not Ubisoft will add the mode to the game when Season 1 arrives is still unclear.

Capture the Flag is quite a common game mode in competitive titles. Made popular by the Quake series back in the day, it sees players grab an item from the opposing side’s base and return it to their base.

If Ubisoft does add the game mode to XDefiant, it would then mean the game has six modes to play. These include Occupy, Domination, Zone Control, Escort and Hotshot.

XDefiant has been widely popular since its much-delayed launch earlier this month. However, the game is facing some balancing issues which Ubisoft is currently addressing. The studio is working on fixing the server hit target bugs as well as clamping down on players spamming the jump and crouch movement during gun fights.

XDefiant is currently available for free on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
