A new trailer for Yooka-Replaylee has been released online but fans quickly noticed that it didn’t include the Nintendo Switch logo. Rather, the trailer simply stated that it’s coming to ‘Nintendo platforms’, adding fuel to the Switch 2 rumours and speculation.
Reddit user JuanMunoz99 pointed out this little detail in the newest trailer for Yooka-Replaylee, which simply lists a Nintendo logo instead of the usual Switch logo. “Right at the end when they list all the platforms the game will be available on they only list Nintendo and not the specific console like what they did with PlayStation and Xbox,” said the user. “They also said on their discord ‘We’ve confirmed PC, PS5, Xbox Series consoles and… Nintendo! (More on that as soon as we can!)’.”
This has led fans to speculate that the reveal of the Switch 2 is much sooner than expected, as it looks like games are beginning to slyly tease that much in its trailers already. A similar thing happened back in 2016 when Sonic Forces was known as Project Sonic. A trailer for the game revealed that it would also be available on Nintendo’s new console, which we know was the original Switch.
We’ve already had our fair share of Switch 2 leaks. Back in September, the apparent specs along with the console’s design was leaked online. A YouTuber, using the leaked design blueprint, took it upon themselves to 3D print what could very well be the final console design. Nintendo has been playing this one very close to the chest and keeping it tightly under wraps for now. It’s not known when the company will actually announce its new hardware but fans believe that it will be unveiled before the end of the year.
Since this is just a friendly round of speculation, take all of this with a pinch of salt until we get some confirmation from Nintendo. Watch the Yooka-Replaylee trailer below:
